This Saturday, Sara Casasola will make her road debut for Fenix-Deceuninck in Strade Bianche, one of the most iconic races on the calendar. The Italian rider is thrilled to start her road season on home soil.
"I feel super excited for my first road race with the team, and it’s even more special to kick off the season in Italy, in such an iconic race as Strade Bianche!" says Casasola.
While this will be her first race in Fenix-Deceuninck colors, she is no stranger to the white gravel roads of Tuscany. "It’s not my first big classic, as I raced Strade already a few years ago. The goal will be to support our leaders and show how strong we can be as a team."
After a long cyclocross season, which ended in Brussels, Casasola took only a short break. "I had four days off after Brussels," she admits. "I hope my form is still there!"
Strade Bianche promises to be a spectacular opening to her road campaign—Casasola and Fenix-Deceuninck are ready for the fight!
